What began more than a decade ago has now grown in terms of participation and world renown. As such, IMCAS has become one of the most important international courses dedicated to Aging Skin Treatments. IMCAS Annual Congress is regularly held in Paris during the month of January and welcomes more than 4000 delegates from 80 different countries.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi spoke and performed a live master class on using Ellanse as an advanced technique for non-surgical full face lifting which was televised into the main lecture hall at the IMCAS and he commented: “I was thrilled to be involved in the IMCAS 2012 Conference held in Paris,”
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi explained, “Ellanse is made of Poly-caprolactone (PCl), which is a well-known totally bioresorbable soft medical polymer. PCl is has been used in numerous CE-marked and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved commercial bloresorbable product applications for several decades world-wide and has demonstrated an excellent safety profile.
Ellanse has complete integration and biocompatibility meaning that there is no tissue hardening. It is revolutionary in letting us reshape facial features and other body parts with excellent results.”
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi was interviewed concerning the safety of Ellanse and the long term effects as it is the only long term filler in the final stages of approval by the FDA, and there is up to 3 years’ worth of data looking at the safety of this product.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi explained in his lecture that Ellanse is the first and the only dermal fillers which acts as a biostimulator of collagen with the results lasting up to 2-4 years.
Ellanse developed by AQTIS Medical, is the first dermal filler which offers a safe unique tunable longevity specifically designed for the field of aesthetic medicine and surgery with the results lasting from 3-5 years.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi explained about the benefits of Ellanse, which offers the maximum potential for modelling due to the combination of optimum viscosity, unique elasticity and uniform homogeneity. Hence, the Ellanse family can be used in a variety of beautifying indications, such as, correcting wrinkles and folds, volumizing, contouring and facial sculpting.
The Ellanse is an injectable implant, indicated for deep dermal and subdermal implantation. The nasolabial folds used in the clinical study are representative for deep and sub-dermal soft tissue augmentation of the facial area.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi said, Ellanse is officially approved by MHRA in the UK and the FDA in the USA and for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) and is used for treating facial lines and wrinkles.
Ellanse is suitable for both woman and men of different ages. It can help with deep folds around the mouth and nose, sunken cheeks, facial scars, deep acne scars and loose skin.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi talked about the use of Ellanse in different age group as following:
In the 20s: Collagen production slows down and then becomes dormant. This is an ideal time to start Ellanse to keep the collagen reserves active and for skin tightening.
In the 30s and 40s: Ellanse is ideal for long lasting lines and wrinkle correction and enhances cheek volume and stimulates collagen in a natural way.
In the 50s and onward: Ellanse is ideal to restore facial contours and volume and correct facial laxity and improve the jaw line and other areas and patients can achieve full face lifting without the need for aggressive surgery with the results lasting up to 3-4 years.
Saturated business programmes became a visiting card of the conference. Gurus and experts from all spheres of the beauty industry (from cosmetologists to massage-masters) shared their experience and know-how during multiple master-classes, seminars, competitions and demonstrations.

The organizers managed to cover all the existing trends in the beauty industry and harmoniously divided the exhibition into issue-related zones.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi’s lecture was translated into Russian. Also, Russian doctors thought that the interpretation into Russian should be made in other rooms because the lectures were scientific and these types of lectures are complex therefore translation is necessary.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi said, “The weekend at IMCAS was a very valuable experience and I have come away from it feeling very motivated.”
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi commented that it was interesting to visit stands such as Cynosure, Inc. Cynosure, Inc. develops and markets aesthetic treatment systems that are used by physicians and other practitioners to perform non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures to rejuvenate the skin, remove hair, treat vascular and pigmented lesions, remove tattoos, treat cellulite and remove unwanted fat through laser lipolysis.
Dr Ayham Alyoubi visited, a Swiss company specializing in the development, manufacturing and distribution of innovative injectable medical devices based on biopolymer transformation. Anteis runs 3 divisions, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Aesthetic dermatology, and commercializes 4 aesthetics ranges: Esthelis, Fortelis, Mesolis and Modelis (new). Anteis recently launched the Injection System, a breakthrough in aesthetic medicine.
He visited Q-Med, a Galderma division, which develops, manufactures and markets solutions for aesthetic and corrective treatments. The division offers a complete worldwide portfolio including the brands Dermal Fillers, Emervel, Azzalure and Macrolane. Since 2011, Q-Med is wholly owned by Galderma, a pharmaceutical company specializing in dermatology. The site, Galderma’s Global Aesthetic Centre of Excellence, with world-class R&D and manufacturing is situated in Uppsala, Sweden.
Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi believes that since IMCAS started in 1995 in Paris, as a congress dedicated to plastic surgeons and dermatologists, it has managed to bridge the knowledge vacuum between Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Dermatology, thereby generating a synergetic and mutually reinforcing interface among these two fields.
