{"id":1536,"date":"2013-01-01T18:35:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-01T18:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lmaclinic.com\/lma-wp\/?p=1536"},"modified":"2021-08-11T18:40:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T18:40:34","slug":"facial-transplantation-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/news-events\/facial-transplantation-conference","title":{"rendered":"Facial Transplantation Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi at the facial transplantation conference with Professor Philip Blondeel, the guest honour speaker at the Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/ayham-al-ayoubi\">r Ayham Al-Ayoubi<\/a>\u00a0a facial plastic and laser surgeon was impressed by the lecture about \u00a0Facial transplant surgery which was introduced by Neil Bulstrode , the Plastic Surgery Section President from The Royal Society of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi further attended the case study of &#8216;Immediate titanium cranioplasty for brain tumours invading the skull&#8217; particularly interesting, this was presented by Dr Kathrin Meier from the Department of Plastic Surgery, guys and St Thomas NHS foundation Trust, London and the presentation &nbsp;by Ms Katerina Anesti , clinical fellow in Skin Cancer Surgery from the Guy&#8217;s and St Thomas &#8216; NHS trust, with the&nbsp;subject of &#8216;Saving open frontobasal skull fracture with brain herniation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"415\" height=\"325\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_3.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi\" class=\"wp-image-912\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_3.jpg 415w, https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_3-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi, Medical Director of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/\">London Medical &amp; Aesthetic Clinic<\/a>&nbsp;participated at the facial transplantation conference where the main lecture was presented by Professor Philip Blondeel, Professor of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery from University hospital Gent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi found the case presentation of &#8216;Enhanced robustness and mobility of the keystone flap&#8217; of particular interest. This was presented by Ms Jurga Pikturnaite &#8211; Plastic Surgeon from Guy&#8217;s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, London.
