Looking back at the most famous filler complications in cosmetic medical history from 19th-century beauties treatments, to early 20th-century charlatans, to 50\u2019s Las Vegas showgirls, through the duck like lips to and to the Kardashians\u2019 buttocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first fillers were made of paraffin, a supposedly safe substance that led to the formation of terrible side effects called \u201cparaffinomas.\u201d The most famous victim of this was the Duchess of Marlborough, who died a recluse after her beautiful face was disfigured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/large_Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_Gladys_Deacon.png\" alt=\"cosmetic treatments\" class=\"wp-image-230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/large_Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_Gladys_Deacon.png 700w, https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/large_Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_Gladys_Deacon-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.lmaclinic.com\/lma\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/large_Dr_Ayham_Al-Ayoubi_Gladys_Deacon-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The early 20th century was also rife with quacks practicing medicine with no medical training! Many of these lay charlatans found early success creating cosmetic beauty empires, but their bad practice soon caught up with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As dermal fillers developed over the years, silicone became the most used popular to be used, and was the favourite of Las Vegas showgirls who underwent many enhancements.
