Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: If the skin has been damaged by too much sun, or if patients have certain kinds of acne, pigmentation problems or fine wrinkling around the mouth and eyes, they might benefit from a series of moderate chemical skin peels to give a clearer, even-toned and healthier skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMild chemical peels exfoliate and give a nice appearance to the surface of the skin,\u201d says Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi of The London Medical and Aesthetic Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zo Skin Health and Obagi chemical peels are generally thought of as being a treatment for the face only, however our  Clinic at Harley Street  in London have reported a rise in the number of women requesting chemical peels for the hands and neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chemical peels can also be used to treat specific areas, such as crows\u2019 feet around the eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chemical peels are, essentially a way of speeding up exfoliation, removing old and dead cells to reveal the fresh skin beneath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: Patients who have had chemical peels have reported great results including a healthy glow and younger looking skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some redness and swelling is expected following a chemical peel, as are feelings of tightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: The results of chemical peels will be visible after about four or five days, and during this period, Vaseline must be applied to the skin to prevent cracking and soap must not be used on the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Clinic situated at 1 Harley Street in central London offer chemical peels, and advises that the treatment can be repeated after six- nine months, but this is usually unnecessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
