How does Stem Cells work?
Stem cell treatments require extracting the fat with a small amount of liposuction, usually fat from the abdomen. It is then treated in a laboratory to isolate the stem cells and then re-injected to create more volume in specific areas of the body. The injected fat adds volume, while the stem cells are responsible for the creation of new blood cells which prevent the fat from being absorbed and thus making sure the results are longer lasting.
By injecting the fat into the areas which have damaged skin or little fat, the treatment can be used as a non-surgical facelift creating additional volume as well as younger and fresher look.
Stem cells are pluripotent – immature cells proficient of giving rise to numerous different cell types and developing into every type of cell within the body. Their origin classifies each type of stem cell in the body, and their potency to convert into different cell classes.
– Pluripotent stem cells can differentiate themselves into any cell type of body.

How is Stem Cell therapy performed?
The patient is provided with general or local anesthesia so that the surgeon can perform the mini-liposuction on the area with an adequate volume of fat, such as the abdomen. With the help of liposuction tube, a small amount of fat is collected and sent for treatment in the laboratory.
The amount of fat taken and the duration of the procedure differs from standard liposuction because just a small amount of fat is required. Some patients may choose to undergo regular liposuction at the same time, meaning the procedure will be performed under general anesthetic and will take longer. Dr Ayoubi can efficiently harness stem cells from fat that is removed by liposuction.
Typically, the stem cells are isolated from the body fat with the help of enzymes in the laboratory. In our clinic, advanced harvesting and processing techniques allow us to leave the stem cells off the fat without the use of enzymes. Afterward, using a syringe, it is injected back into the body tissue to the area where it is needed. Dr Ayoubi is one of only a few surgeons offering this stem cell treatment worldwide.
The whole process described above, the stem cells extracted (via liposuction), isolated, and then re-injected into the target area is performed while the patient is under general anesthetic, in one session. In case a local anesthetic is used, the stem cells are treated in the lab while the patient dresses, and then cells are injected into the area of treatment.
