‘How old do I Look’: which celebrities fair best against beauty’s new app?
I’ve never faired well with ageing tests. I remember as an intern a gadget telling me that the skin on my forearm was the equivalent to a 45 year old’s (I was 24) not long before a bone density test outed me as having the body of an 80 year-old from the outside in.
This week I gave Microsoft’s How Old a go (the new age-guessing app which uses photos to assess the damage) and it added two years onto my age using a photo taken three years ago. Go figure.
Below each result is a clause saying: ‘Sorry if we didn’t quite get the age and gender right,’ which is comforting, despite the app’s sole purpose. Can’t help but think it’s my fault however – every woman knows never to ask those fateful words, ‘how old do I look?’ especially not from an app.
But it seems thousands of women, and men (search #HowOldRobot and you’ll see what I mean) are relying on this app (and possibly a flattering filter) for the honest answer. Still, I’ve decided not to take any more risks where How Old is concerned, and instead leave it to the celebrities to give its ‘Age Robot’ (inbuilt ageing algorithm to you and I) a whirl. Besides, most celebrities are defying the ageing clock right?
Celebrities defying the ageing process
Here are the age old results, with comments from Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi, a leading surgeon from the London Medical and Aestheic Clinic, as to why each of these women is ageing quite so slowly. Prepare to be amazed.
Kylie Minogue: real age 46, How Old age, 29 (pictured above)
Al-Ayoubi’s comment: “Kylie apears to have had dermal fillers in her cheekbones, Anti-Wrinkle Injections, and a subtle lip enhancement, which I think looks beautiful and very natural.”
Demi Moore: real age 52, How Old age, 39
Al-Ayoubi’s comment: “Demi appears to have had dermal fillers in the cheekbones through injection. This means her cheeks look fuller whilst the temple and lower parts of her face appear more sunken. It also looks like she has had very successful and natural looking rhinoplasty, and may have had upper blepharoplasty.”
Sharon Stone: real age 57, How Old age, 38
Al-Ayoubi’s comment: “There is no sign of major plastic surgery with Sharon, however she may have had Anti-Wrinkle Injections a long time before this picture was taken. I do believe she has had dermal fillers in her cheeks, which look a little overdone and slightly too low for her features.”
Jane Fonda: real age 77, How Old age, 38
Dr Al-Ayoubi’s comment: “Her skin is tightened and wrinkle free, which looks to me that she may have had a good course of Collagen Stimulation treatments. Jane’s skin appears to have been treated with Anti-Wrinkle Injections, and her nose looks like it could have been sculpted through rhinoplasty.”
Kris Jenner: real age 59, How Old age, 36
Dr Al-Ayoubi’s comment: “Sadly, in my opinion Kris has spoiled her natural beauty through rhinoplasty that leaves her nose looking artificial. She appears to have had lip fillers, Anti-Wrinkle Injections, teeth whitening and dermal fillers which are much more natural than rhinoplasty.”
