Cellulite unfortunately affects most women during their lifetime, Here Dr Ayham Al Ayoubi, tells The Cosmetic Surgery Guide about Cellulaze: The cellulite treatment everyone is talking about.
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is the uneven distribution of subcutaneous fat tissue giving rise to an irregular, dimpled skin surface of the thighs, abdomen, and buttocks in 85% of post- adolescent women. Also known as ‘orange peel’ or cottage cheese’, it is the abnormal storage of fat and toxins in the fat cells (adipocytes) under the skin and it is caused by an imbalance between fat production and fat breakdown within the cells.
Many believe cellulite to be a fat problem that can be eliminated through diet and exercise. Although these methods will lessen the appearance of cellulite, it will never eliminate entirely.
There are many treatments available for cellulite. However, the majority of them are topically applied and have very limited effect on cellulite with short term results.
What is Cellulaze and how does it work?
This is the world’s first cellulite treatment which uses a pulsed laser which delivers energy to treat cellulite which does not penetrate the upper layers of skin.
Cellulaze works by firstly inserting the laser through a 1-2 mm incision in the skin and placing it just underneath the top layer, pointing it downwards to liquidise the excess fat lying beneath the epidermis. The laser is then pointed at a horizontal angle to cut through the stiffened fibrous bands, releasing the valleys of fat which cause the orange peel effect.
Finally, the laser is placed in the uprights position to thicken and elasticise the top layer of the skin, smoothing out the surface for tight and tones skin.
Why is Cellulaze the best choice for sufferers of cellulite?
Cellulaze is the only cellulite treatment available which is effective after just one treatment, and clinical trial have demonstrated that the effects of Cellulaze will last for a minimum of twelve months.
Cellulaze is the only treatment which addressed all of the structural cause of cellulite and is able to attack the fat tissue by cutting through the brittle structure bands beneath the skin, which are the cause of the cellulites characteristic dimples.
Is there a perfect patient for Cellulaze?
To treat cellulite using Cellulaze laser treatments, the condition must be sufficiently advanced and be classified as group two or three in which dimpling is visible.
However, Cellulaze is said to deliver the best results for people who are not significantly overweight and lead a fit and healthy lifestyle.
What do patients like about this treatment?
The popularity of the treatment can be attributed to the fact that the treatment is minimally invasive with very little downtime.
Cellulaze laser treatment for cellulite has achieved consistently high levels of patient satisfaction and is the first treatment which recognises that cellulite is not just a fat problem, but a structural one and addresses the structural causes if cellulite.
