SmartLipo is a less invasive procedure than the old traditional form of liposuction and can be used on the same areas that liposuction is used.

Due to the SmartLipo cannula being very small, Smart Lipo can be performed on the stomach, legs, thighs, neck and other larger troublesome areas.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: The smartlipo laser energy will coagulate the tissue, thereby sculpting body contours and tightening the skin, preventing any saggy skin.

Smartlipo treatment is conducted by a fully trained smartlipo plastic surgeon in a sterile operating environment.

The treated areas are marked with a special marker pencil; lines are traced outwards from initial point, a very small incision that is made between one to two millimeters in which the local anaesthetic will be injected.

The Smart Lipo laser is then turned on the optical fibre is inserted into the incision that was created for the infiltration of the anaesthetic solution; its transit through the skin is carefully monitored by guiding light on the laser device.

Introducing pulsed laser energy that liquefies the fat cells and this will be removed from the body by aspiration.

The treatment begins by slowly moving forwards lengthwise accurately following the lines that have been traced on the skin and constantly maintaining the same speed of movement, the full treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: After the smartlipo laser lypolisis treatment is completed the fatty tissue will be more compact with a greater tone without any surface irregularities. A compression dressing is often applied to help with any bleeding or swelling as no stitches are required.

There are some mild discomfort, swelling and bruising that can occur after Smart Lipo treatment. These symptoms could be treated with over the counter medications and the other symptoms will simply go away on their own after a couple of days.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi: Most patients are able to return to normal activities the next day after the procedure.

The body contours will gradually improve day by day, with visible results within 2 to 3 months post-treatment. Within that period the patient is to attend follow up visits to make sure the results are as expected. However, it usually takes 4 to 9 months to see final results, varying individually between patients.
