Sculptra for Ageing Hands

London’s Leading Sculptra Clinic

Even with a healthy body and youthful looking face, hands can give away your age. In fact, some people believe that hands are best indicator for guessing age. Now that facial procedures are almost commonplace, women are looking for solutions for aging hands.

Anti-ageing regimes are more commonly offered for the face. It’s easy to forget the hands, but as they’re always on show no matter the season, they need attention too. Hands are faced with the extreme elements of our modern world, household chemicals and extreme temperatures cause sun damage, dryness, and chapped skin and age spots.

Age Spots

The most prevalent sign of aging seen in hands is age spots or “liver spots. “Age spots are caused by sun damage. Very few people wear sunscreen on their hands as they do their face, even so hormones can still encourage the production of age spots. Luckily, there are many techniques for removing age spots.

Veins

As the skin thins, veins in the hands can become very vivid and unattractive. Just like spider veins in the legs, this can be remedied. Sclerotherapy uses injections that cause the veins to clot, die and disappear.

Thinning and wrinkled hands

As your hands lose volume, wrinkles become more apparent and your hands can start to look bony. Fat grafts can restore youthful plumpness and minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi, a leading international facial and laser surgeon and Medical Director of the London Medical and Aesthetic Clinic on Harley Street, offers a solution for ageing hands.

Sculptra for the hands

The poly-L-lactic acid filler, Sculptra, helps restore plumpness and collagen production to the upper-side of sunken hands. Fillers have long been used to restore volume to the face.

Now Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi, with over 22 years of experience in the aesthetic industry, has pioneered a new technique of using Sculptra to re-establish fullness to the hands and diminish the unsightly appearance of veins and sagging skin. With his expert care you can keep hands glowing and youthful!

Sculptra is an injectable stimulating filler, composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic product, which does not harm the body and is able to be broken down naturally. Sculptra makes skin appear smoother, firmer and fuller increasing its elasticity and youthful appearance!

Patient Expectations of Sculptra for Ageing Hands

Patient satisfaction and high quality are the top priorities in our clinic. We believe it is important to explain the mechanisms behind the product and explain reality of the awaiting results. Sculptra slowly restores natural skin contours, reduce appearing wrinkles, hydrates the skin and plumps fatty tissue within the hand. It is excellent injectable choice if you want to hide veins visibility, correct volume loss, tighten the skin or reduce skin sagging.

Although, to optimize results, this treatment requires multiple injections. To see full product performance will take between 4 – 6 months. Once wanted results attained, expected duration of Sculptra is 2 – 5 years. Sometimes patients desire instant progress, then further treatments with dermal fillers e.g., hyaluronic acid might be suggested.

Post-procedure hands might swell and bruise. It is recommended to avoid exercise, alcohol, salty food and anti-inflammatory drugs. Patient should be aware that injection in the hand is very similar to facial injections, this means that discomfort can occur, you need to be patient and continuously look after treated location.

Sculptra combined with CO2 Laser

Dr Ayham AL-Ayoubi combines this with Cynosure’s Performa CO2 laser to banish hyper-pigmentation and ages spots, creating a vision of youth that keeps people guessing. The CO2 laser treatments used to remove age spots can also help the skin to build up to its normal thickness, by stimulating collagen production.

When used in combination with a revolutionary laser treatment such as the Performa CO2, for laser skin resurfacing, Sculptra can enhance results even further!

Cynosure’s Performa CO2 is a carbon dioxide laser designed to penetrate the skin’s tissue without damaging the surrounding area, delivering a less aggressive procedure that’s kinder on skin. The machine introduces a new air-cooling system using cold air to cool down the skin, and deliver radical results in just one treatment.

The Performa CO2 is an effective anti-aging procedure for treating uneven skin tone, texture, pigmentation and discoloration of skin particularly on the hands.

The combination of Sculptra and Performa CO2 treatment will help you regain that natural youthful appearance, without the need for surgery.

We pride ourselves in being the leading clinic In Sculptra and Co2 treatment for aging hands. Our clinics are one of the nation’s leading Sculptra and Co2 centres in the UK.

Sculptra For Hands FAQS

Is Sculptra safe for aging hands?

Sculptra is evidently safe and effective product, it is FDA and MHRA approved and has been used in the market for more than 50 years, globally. Firstly, injectable was used for HIV patients that had lipoatrophy (condition when fat tissue is lost), as well as for other medical applications e.g., medical plates, dental implants and etc. However, recently Sculptra became top cosmetic treatment and it is currently being broadly applied to treat multiple facial and body areas. Further, Sculptra does not include any animal products, it has been tested through various clinical trials prior the release. This indicates that Sculptra is clinically efficient and safe to use.

Moreover, as stated previously Sculptra consists of Poly-Lactic acid which is naturally absorbed product, that increases collagen production within human’s skin. Due to its biocompatible, re-absorbable and natural qualities, Sculptra became a popular choice for aging hands treatment. Further international studies indicate that the product is highly tolerable and adverse side effects rarely occurs.

Nevertheless, adverse reaction can still occur even after procedure. In hands treatment, Sculptra might cause skin rash, bruising, itching etc, that last 5 – 7 days. Usually, it is due to superficial injection which can also lead to lump formation called subcutaneous papules. Robust post-treatment massage after the procedure typically prevents this problem.

With thousands of the Sculptra procedures performed at our clinic, not yet witnessed such adverse effects. Advanced treatment techniques introduced by well trained and highly qualified Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi minimize any consequences and produce optimum results.
