Thread Lift

Facial thread-lift, also known as feather lift surgery, is a delicate cosmetic surgery procedure to gently lift sagging facial skin to produce a smoother, more youthful natural appearance.

Thread lifts have been around for a long and in the last few years a refinement of the treatment was made with threads that are absorbable, strong and long lasting enough for the body’s natural tissues to take over, which have resulted in an evaluation in the facial thread treatment.

Facial thread lifting technology uses re-absorbable sutures with bidirectional cones to produce a dual effect; lifting action and collagen regenerative action with natural results lasting up to 2-3 years.

Thread Lift Use

It is considered to be a discreet approach to achieving a fresher, younger-looking appearance, used by many “A” list stars who deny having surgery but look to have defied age and remain still naturally good looking without a “done” plastic appearance.

The most common areas to address and to treat are:

  • Midface and lower face
  • Laxity in the jowls
  • Double chins
  • Crêpey neck
  • Heavy eyelids

Thread Lifting can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with Sculptra, Dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections and skin tightening and lifting treatments such as Thermage and CO2 Laser.

The treatment produces an immediate and natural lift with no downtime recovery, so patients return to professional and social life straight after the procedure.

Suitability

Thread lift is suitable for both women and men. It lifts sagging areas of the face without the need for sedation or a hospital stay.

The treatment is considred to be a minimally invasive surgical procedure, performed under local anaesthetic and takes as little as 30 to 45 minutes and produces an immediate and natural lift with no downtime recovery, so patients return to professional and social life straight after the procedure.

The thread-lift procedure involves very fine surgical sutures being inserted in to the soft tissue of the face to lift and support sagging areas. It cannot offer the same results as a full face lift but is a good option for a more subtle rejuvenation.

Safety

Poly-L-lactic acid, the main ingredient of Silhouette Softthread and the PDO thread have been used successfully in surgical procedures for many  years, among others for bioresorbable sutures, in bone plates and surgical screws.

The thread lift is a simple treatment for performing an complications are rare, and are less likely when the procedure is performed by an experienced and trained facial plastic surgeon.

Facial Threads are officially approved by MHRA in the UK and the FDA in the USA.
