FAQ- Ellanse

Read more about Ellanse

Over the course of time, our skin gradually loses its natural collagen, leading to facial laxity and the formation of wrinkles and folds. Ellanse uses the body’s natural response to stimulate the generation of the body’s own collagen (neo-collagenesis) – restoring a fresh, youthful look.

Ellanse  is a non-animal, non-bacterial and non-human derived product. It is a natural biostimulator, since it stimulates the creation of your own new collagen. it has optimal biocompatibility, due to the very smooth spherical microspheres. It is predictable, controlled and has tunable bioresorption, with an excellent safety profile. Unique tunable longevity options for personalized and tailored treatment.

Ellanse is suitable for both men and woman of different ages. It can help with deep folds around the mouth and nose, sunken cheeks, facial scars, deep acne scars and loose skin. Ellanse addresses your needs for beautiful, fresh, longer-lasting and cost effective results. It has four distinctive versions, lasting from one year to four years. It allows you to choose how long you would like the results to last, eliminating the need for frequent repeat treatments.

Ellanse is designed for the correction of lines, wrinkles and folds, as well as, facial volume and hand rejuvenation. Patients looking for longer-lasting and above all sustained results will benefit from Ellanse, whilst leaving them open to consider additional treatment possibilities. This allows patients to select the performance duration that suits them, ranging from twelve months up to four years.

Ellanse was intreduced into the UK by Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi in 2010 and one year later, he pioneered this revolutionary dermal filler worldwide.

Ellanse is the first and the only Dermal Filler which acts as a biostimulator of collagen with the results lasting up to two to five years. It was developed by AQTIS Medica, is the first dermal filler which offers a safe unique tunable longevity, specifically designed for the field of aesthetic medicine and surgery with the results lasting from three to five years.

Ellanse is made of Poly-Caprolactone (PCl) and is a well-known totally bioresorbable soft medical polymer. ELLANSE offers the maximum potential for modeling due to the combination of optimum viscosity, unique elasticity and uniform homogeneity,

How does Ellanse work?

The mode of action is the same throughout the entire Ellansé Family. Ellansé is a dermal filler providing immediate results, as well as, Biostimulation inducing neo-collagenesis for longer-lasting and sustained results.

  • Due to the optimum viscosity and elasticity of the gel-carrier, the wrinkles and folds undergo immediate physical correction after treatment.
  • The gel-carrier (suspension medium for microspheres) is gradually resorbed over a period of several weeks after treatment.
  • In parallel, the perfectly smooth PCL-microspheres stimulate neo-collagenesis to replace the volume of the resorbed carrier.         The microspheres are not phagocytozed because of their size (25-50 µm) and surface characteristics (totally smooth and spherical-shaped), Instead, the surface of the smooth and spherical PCL microspheres is coated with a monolayer of macrophages and a scaffold of new high quality collagen
  • This scaffold formation leads to the soft tissue augmentation effect of the dermal filler and results in extended correction time and unique sustained performance, leading to increased patient satisfaction.

Mode of Action

The mechanism consists of sustained performance and complete bioresorption.

The excellent performance and saftey of the Ellanse is well grounded in its mode of action and specificaly tunable characteristics.

Possible side effects

In capable hands, with the right training and experience, this is a very safe and effective procedure. Over time the technique has evolved to optimise the effects and reduce problems.

Immediate side effects may include injection-related events, at the site of injection, such as, minimum redness, slight tenderness or discomfort, some bruising or rarely swelling.

A delayed appearance of small bumps under the skin in the treated area could rarely occur. Generally these bumps are not visible and may only be noticed when pressing on the treated area. All of these side effects usually last only a day or two.

The specifically designed microsphere characteristics provide a safe and long-lasting high quality scaffold for tissue infiltration.

Patient satisfaction at twelve months evaluated on the basis of GAIS (Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale) for Ellanse was found to be 90%. Average physician evaluation shows improvement in 92% patients based on GAIS.

Ellanse treatments were rated to be excellent or good by 90% of patients on the scale of likelihood to return for repeat treatment at twelve months.

Ellanse Vs Other Dermal Fillers

Ellanse is different from other fillers, as it gives the desired beautiful aesthetic result that lasts longer than conventional dermal fillers. The unique advantages of Ellanse are sustained performance, tunable longevity and total bioresorbability.

Ellanse also offers the advantage over other fillers, as it allows immediate correction and sustained performance from one up to four years.
