Smartlipo – Laser Assisted Liposuction

All Types of Smartlipo

From the concept of Smartlipo – laser lipolysis to laser assisted liposuction

Smartlipo Generation – laser lipolysis since year 2000

Smartlipo First Machine

This advanced revolutionary laser technology was originally developed in Italy in year 2000 after 12 years of extensive research and clinical studies. Smartlipo – laser lipolysis technique has been used successfully in Italy, Japan and Brazil from year 2000.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi was proud to be the very first surgeon to introduce this revolutionary laser concept of treatment into the UK in 2006.

The Smart Lipo using Nd:YAG laser (Smartlipo DEKA Laser System ) was the result of a concept that combines all the new generation laser technology with the advantages of compactness and reliability.

Smartlipo possesses the outstanding features necessary for exalting its operating performance.

The Smartlipo is a laser system that can reach extremely high frequencies for very brief periods, even several millionths of a second, plus it has electronic control of the emitted power and the laser pulses.

These features of Smartlipo also mean that the laser emission can be considered as minimally thermal due to the energy being concentrated in very brief pulses.

Laser Assisted Liposuction – LAL – Smartlipo with suction since 2007

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi has invented and developed the concept of laser assisted liposuction technique – LAL in year 2007.

The laser assisted liposuction technique is based on lasering the fat tissue using Smartlipo laser energy, followed by skin tightening by taking advantage of the thermal effect of the laser energy, after which he uses the suction machine or the bodyjet liposuction technique to suck out the liquefied fat.

The optical fibre of the laser is inserted into the same incision created for the infiltration of the anaesthetic solution. Its transit through the skin is monitored by means of the guiding light on the laser device itself. The actual treatment begins by slowly moving forwards lengthwise following the lines traced on the skin and trying to constantly maintain the same speed of movement.

The laser assisted liposuction technique – LAL combines Smartlipo and gentle suction at the same time. The deep fat is lasered first followed by the superficial fat and finally the fat is suctioned out.

This technique has been adapted by numerous numbers of plastic surgeons and cosmetic doctors from all around the world.

In addition, Dr Ayoubi has been travelling all around the world, teaching this revolutionary advanced laser liposuction technique which he performs at the Cadagon Clinic in central London which is the official training centre for Smartlipo laser liposuction in the UK

Evolutionary Smartlipo MPX – since year 2008

Evolutionary Smartlipo MPX

We pride ourselves for introducing the first evolutionary Smartlipo MPX system from the USA into the UK and Europe in August 2008.

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi led the way yet again by introducing the Smartlipo MPX and has been appointed the leading trainer surgeon in the UK.

Smartlipo MPX is the first dual-wavelengths laser system (this Smartlipo machine has two different lasers working at the same time) for body sculpting.

As with the original Smartlipo workstation, Smart Lipo MPX is a minimally invasive laser lipolysis system. The system’s proprietary pulsing format delivers laser energy through a cannula to liquefy the fat, which is then removed from the body.

The Smart Lipo laser energy also coagulates the tissue, thereby sculpting body contours and tightening the skin.

The Smart Lipo laser liposuction procedure generally causes less bleeding, swelling and bruising than traditional liposuction, resulting in fewer complications anda more rapid recovery time.

Smartlipo MPX is equipped with two impotant features, the SmartSenseand the ThermaGuide.

SmartSense - Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi

The SmartSense delivery system contains an advanced microchip called the Accelerometer, which is inserted into the intelligent handpiece. Based on the setting you choose (high, medium, or low) and the motion of the intelligent handpiece, the precise laser power is metered and delivered.

ThermaGuide

The ThermaGuide constantly measures the temperature under the skin and controls the output of energy, ensuring that the treatment area stays within a safe range so that it is hot enough to work efficiently, but not so hot as to cause the patient harm.

Smartlipo MPX – the first Laser Body Sculpting platform to:

  • Give safe and consistent distribution of thermal energy supported with extensive clinical studies and research
  • Reduce treatment time by blending the clinical benefits of the two wavelengths
  • Combine the properties of two wavelengths for effective lipolysis and tissue coagulation resulting in tissue tightening
  • Feature unique intelligent delivery systems (SmartSense and ThermaGuide devices) for safe and uniform energy delivery

SmartLipo Triplex – since year 2010

Smartlipo Triplex

Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi of London Medical and Aesthetic Clinic has led the way yet again by introducing the very first evolutionary SmartLipo Triplex from the USA into the UK and Europe in 2010.

A new member to the laser lipolysis field, the SmartLipo Triplex, offers greater fat reduction and skin tightening.

The SmartLipo Triplex Laser was recently released and is an improvement upon the SmartLipo MPX series.

The Triplex adds another benefit to the original Smartlipo system with an additional wavelength. It is the first laser lipolysis technology that uses three wavelengths which are well absorbed by fat.

SmartLipo Triplex adds a 1440 nm wavelength to the MPX generation of the laser. The three wavelengths are combined in one laser output. Two wavelengths fire sequentially, liquefying the fat and tightening the skin with Sculptra.

The 1064 and 1440 wavelengths combine for fat liquefaction and the 1064 and 1320 wavelengths combine for Sculptra and blood vessel coagulation.

This combination provides both fat reduction and skin tightening so that patients can often avoid additional procedures to remove the loose skin people often experience after liposuction.

Smartlipo Triplex like the Smartlipo MPX is also equipped with both features the SmartSense and the ThermaGuide which constantly measures the temperature under the skin and controls the output of energy, ensuring that the treatment area stays within a safe range so that it is hot enough to work efficiently, but not so hot as to cause the patient harm.

ThermaGuide

The ThermaGuide temperature sensing cannula has a thermistor near the treatment tip of the fiber that profiles temperature subdermally near the treatment site. This information is relayed back to the laser.

The laser, in turn, has two user selectable temperature settings a treatment (Rx) limit and a high (Hi) temperature limit. During the laser procedure, if the laser detects that the subdermal temperature reaches the Rx limit, the laser will stop emitting energy until the cannula is moved to another treatment area (cooler than the Rx limit).

If the high temperature limit is reached during treatment, the laser stops and instructs the user to take measures to immediately cool the treatment area. Once the laser error has been cleared, lasing can resume in another treatment area (cooler than the Rx limit).

Smartsense with ThermaGuide is the only device on the market today that incorporates intelligent sensing near the treatment end of the cannula.

This allows to achieve:

  • Temperature monitoring at site of lasing for instand temperature feedback
  • Precise and controlled body contouring
  • Best possible skin tightening effects through tissue coagulation
  • Safer clinical results with greater efficiency
  • ThermaGuide provides temperature feed back to deliver the appropriate level of laser energy.

Temperature Sensing:

  • The ThermaGuide cannula contains a sensor which measures tissue temperature
  • Workstation calculates average temperature and displays it on the screen
  • Laser energy is delivered until the target temperature is reached, for a safer and more uniform treatment
  • Sophisticated software allows to select temperature settings to both warn the surgeon and then reduce the laser energy when subdermal temperatures exceed target temperature.
